A declaration
Americans show their sympathy in countless ways, perhaps no more selfless or important than the limbs. In the United States, more than 170 million people have decided to be a donor and my administration is grateful for that. During the month of National Donate Life, we celebrate the impact of these heroes and their valuable gift life.
Last year alone, Americans saved and enhanced about 50,000 lives through donations and replacements. Each life is valuable, and every new donor can give a gift to 8 people and enhance the lives of 75 people who fight with chronic diseases, blindness, fatal burns and trauma.
There are more than 103,000 men, women and children on the National Transplant Waiting list, with hope and desire for a miracle. A new name is added every 8 minutes. Sadly, more than 17 people die every day while waiting to replace more registered donors.
Anyone who is eligible, regardless of age or treatment, has the ability to sign up to become an organ donor. To list, visit your State Registry, Motor Vehicle, or www.orgondonor.gov. The registration process is just as easy as checking a box or registering online.
Throughout this month, we honor selfless donors who liberally give life to others and celebrate the health and healing beneficiaries. The first woman and I pray for everyone waiting to replace with expectations and hopes.
So, now, I, the United States President Donald J Trump, based on the Authority based on the Constitution and the law of the United States, thus declare as the month of life as a national grant on April 2025. I urge all Americans to consider being a donor and to share this decision with family members and loved ones.
