Jack Wolfskin goes to Anta Sports

The American group Topgolf Callaway Brands separates from Jack Wolfskin: for a purchase price of around $ 290 million (approx. 255 million euros), the subsidiary from Idstein goes to the sporting goods group Anta Sports from Hong Kong. Topgolf Callaway only acquired the German brand in 2018 for around 418 million euros. In the future, the US group would like to focus on the core business: Golf. For the current year of Jack Wolfskin, which started in February, sales of EUR 325 million and an adjusted EBTIDA of EUR 12 million assume.

“I am pleased to be able to announce that we have made an agreement on the sale of the Jack Wolfskin business to Anta Sports, a worldwide leading provider of sportswear and shoes,” commented Chip Brewer, President and CEO of Topgolf CallaWay Brands. “This sale will enable us to focus more on our core business and optimize our resources. Above all, the proceeds will further improve our balance sheet and liquidity and strengthen our financial flexibility before the planned separation of top golf from our core business. We believe that Anta Sports will be a good administrator of the iconic brand Jack Wolfskin, and we thank our Jack Wolfskin work Carefully worked on the right size to get this business and prepare it for this next chapter. ”

Anta Sports has had shares in the Finnish sporting goods manufacturer Amer Sports since 2019. These include brands such as Salomon, Atomic, Wilson, Peak Performance and Arcteryx. The acquisition of Jack Wolfskin is therefore “another step of our global expansion strategy,” said Anta Sports.
