President Donald Trump said that 100% tariffs would be introduced on films outside the United States on Sunday, claiming that the US film industry “was dying very fast.”
Trump said it was due to the incentives that other countries were offering to attract American filmmakers.
Trump wrote on the truth social, “This is a concrete effort by other countries and therefore, there is a national security threat.
Trump said he was authorizing relevant government agencies, searching as the Department of Commerce, immediately to start the process of imposing 100% tariffs on all films, which are then in the US.
Trump said: “We want films to be made in America, again!”
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik took in X, and wrote: “We are on it.”
Trump’s social media comments came after China was said to be last month, this would reduce the number of American films imported by me.
Miller touched for security advisor
In other places, Trump said on Sunday that Stephen Miller, his deputy chief of staff, whether a precursor is to be named as National Security Advisor, Suk Peding Mike Waltz.
Trump on Thursday announced that he would nominate Waltz to become an US ambassador to the United Nations, naming the state’s Marco Rubio as a replacement on a temporary basis.
Waltz was facing a mountain pressure on the “Signal Gate” scam. In March, Waltz claimed “full responsibility” to incorrectly add a journalist to a group messaging chat, in which senior members of the Trump administration spoke of military attacks in Yemen.
“I am going to name someone,” Trump told reporters in the Air Force. Hey said that he was expected to fill the job within about six months, and it could be a miller.
Trump said, “I think he is already with that work indirectly. Ni has a lot about a lot of things. He is a very priced person in administration, Stephen,” said Trump.
