Tesla Europe’s sales fell to 52% in April – Business Group – DW – 05/27/2025

According to a study published on Tuesday, European is purchasing less Teslas than before, keeping in mind a trend lakes in recent months, despite the increasing demand for European electric cars.

The European Automobile Manufacturers Association said that only 5,475 Tesla cars were sold in April, which was 52.6% from the same month last year.

In the first four months of this year, Tesla sales was 46.1% compared to the first four months of the previous year.

This means that there were only 41,677 cars during the first four months of this year.

The study matches with data earlier this month, showing that Tesla’s sales in Germany and UK fell at its lowest point in more than two years in April.

Europeans are buying Chinese models on Teslas for the first time

Europeans are buying more Chinese cars, the Chinese manufacturer has overtaken Tesla as a leading car like European to buy pure electric cars in April.

Compared to 7.165 Teslas in that month, for data from Jato Dynamics Automotive Research Firm, 7.231 pure electric byd cars were registered in April.

Some experts have attributed the decline in the EV brand of Elon Musk on the continent for a slow rollout of the latest edition of the popular model Y, while others have pointed to Musk’s involvement in the administration of US President Donald Trump.

In Germany, people are still purchasing electric cars made by Mercedes and Volkswagen, while BYD and other Chinese brands search as Nio and Xpeng, more popular in Spain and Italy.
