Many Alpine communities in the Lothschental Valley of Switzerland have been asked to get ready to vacate their homes after mass landslides on Wednesday.
Rivers are swollen in the area and injuries behind the debris, rock and ice, which fell down into the valley after the birch glacier fell into the south -western Canton.
“We ask the residents to make personal preparations so that they can leave their homes as soon as possible,” the municipalities of Steg-Hohtain and Gampel-Barats posted in the LotsCental Valley posted on their website late Thursday night.
Man is missing even after Wednesday’s collapse
Millions of cubic meters of snow, mud and rock in Wednesday’s collapse have noticed that the villages and officials of Blaton have yet to find a 64 -year -old man, who has not been seen since the collapse.
300 residents of Blatten were taken out on a short notice last week after an assessment by geologists that found a landslide adjacent.
Local authorities suspended the discovery of the missing person on Thursday afternoon, as the situation became very dangerous with further rockfall warnings.
The level of rising water is a concern
The debris has blocked the syllabus of the Lonza River and built a lake, which in turn fears that mass may dislike mass and affect communities more.
Stephen Ganjar, head of the security division for the Valace Canton, told reporters that the blockage resulted in increasing the water level from 80 centimeters (31.5 inches) to hour.
The army is on standby with water pumps and earth-moving machinery and will get to work once the conditions improve.
