Jugadoo thinking of an auto driver from Mumbai has created a sensation on social media. This driver is not earning 5 to 8 lakh rupees every month from a unique service, not by driving an auto, and that too standing outside the US Embassure! Actually, people coming for the US visa interview are not allowed to carry the bag inside. In such a situation, there is a big tension, where is the bag? This auto driver made this problem his business idea!
How does he earn?
Lenskart’s product head Rahul Rupani first shared this story. He told that when he reached US Consulate, the bag was not allowed inside. Then an autowala came and said – “I will keep the bag safe for ₹ 1,000.”
At first glance, the amount was slightly more, but the visa does not miss, due to this fear, the deal was done. Later it was discovered that this driver gives this service to 20-30 customers daily and is earning ₹ 20,000 to ₹ 30,000 daily!
What did Sanjeev Bhikhachandani say?
Info Edge founder and big investor Sanjeev Bhikchandani also reacted on it. When someone asked – “Can this idea be funded by VC (Venture Capital)?” So his answer was – “No!”
He said that this idea is not scalable, it can be very easily competition and it does not show any big investment return or exit option.
But the real story is even more fun …
Rahul Rupani says that this autowal actually arranges for Secure of-Site Lockers with a local policeman. Auto is just a “Conversion Funnel”, the way to pull customers.
Rupani further said, “The real entrepreneurship does not always need a pitch deck. Sometimes it needs a parking spot.”
