An employee of a French school was stabbed by a 15 -year -old student during a bag check, Gendermary said on Tuesday.
A police officer assisted in the check who was slightly injured in the incident, which took place in a school in Norrent, Northeastern France.
French President Emmanuel Macron wrote on social media, “Looking at our children in Nogant, for the educational assistant, a sensitive wave of violence, the educational assistant lost his life.”
“The nation is in mourning and the government is raised to reduce crime,” he said.
Bag checks offered to make French schools safe
At the start of classes, 31 -year -old teaching assistant was stabbed several times. According to education officials, the suspected attacker was subdued by Lingmes.
The student, who had no criminal records, was detained.
Education Minister Elizabeth Born “had a Nogant’s route to support the entire school community and police.”
Although deadly school attacks in France are rare, increasing concerns over violence have inspired the Ministry of Education to implement bag checks in some schools this year.
In a period of two months in this spring, a total of 186 knives were seized during these checks, and 32 persons were detained, the internal ministry reported on Tuesday.
On the X Follow Tuesday attack, Prime Minister Francois Berotot said, “The risk of blade weapons among our children has become important. It is widely up to us to create a public enemy.”
