When the world’s seven major democratic forces were gathered at the G7 conference in the cold litigants of Rocky Pavartamala in Canada, US President Donald Trump once again shocked everyone in his special style. Before the formal beginning of the G7 meeting, he announced that he will leave Canada a day before and return to America- the reason? ‘Whatever is going on in the Middle East’.
In fact, on the very first day of the Trump conference, he came into the limelight about this tension, when he warned the people of Iran’s capital Tehran to ‘vacate the city immediately’ on social media. However, he did not give any clear reason behind this warning. This post was believed to be an indication that Trump is adopting a strategy to pressurize Iran.
Trump showed maneuver in G7 meeting
European countries leader Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Frederick Merz and British Prime Minister Kir Starmer, along with Canadian hosts PM Mark Karney, were trying to agree on a shared statement, in which Iran was to be recognized and Iranal’s self -defense rights were to be recognized. But Trump refused to sign it.
An American official said that President Trump has already made a public statements on the issue, and he does not seem to sign a shared manifesto. However, European representatives are still hoping that Trump can be celebrated.
Try to deal with Iran again
Talking to reporters at the G7 conference, Trump said that he can soon make a diplomatic agreement with Iran. He said, ‘Iran wants to talk … We are going to do something.’ However, he did not clarify what he was going to do.
Trump said that he had given a two -month ultimatum to Iran, which was completed on Friday. On the same day, Israel made the most aggressive attacks on Iran so far, in which its nuclear facilities and military officers were on target.
Dispute again about Russia
At the conference, Trump also repeated the old stand on Russia. He said that it was a mistake to remove Russia from the G8 11 years ago and if he had still joined, there would probably have not been a Ukraine war. On this, French President Macron objected, said that the country which is violating the United Nations Charter itself cannot become a broker of peace in the Middle East.
The G7 meeting may be a platform of global cooperation, but Trump’s stance once again showed that he believes in unilateral decisions and pressure strategies instead of multilateral dialogue and consent. Due to the Iran-Israel dispute, his early return and distance from the shared statement drawn a political tension on the very first day of the conference.
