It was only on the organization of the European Union program in Brussels. And yet, it was revealed that the Conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU)-and the Minister of Environment Carsten Schneider, different economy minister for the Central-Material Social Democratic Party (SPD), Kaitharina Reach, told about renewable energy, climate protection and nuclear power.
In mid -June, Rich was looking for a way to spend the evening in Brussels after a long meeting with his European Union counterparts. There were two options: a meeting with the representative of those countries that want to continue to expand renewable energy, and a meeting with the nuclear-supportive states.
27 Out of the European Union states operate twelve nuclear power plants, with the highest ratio in France – 55 reactor. Rich eventually attended the meeting of thesis countries, even though former Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government went to Fukushima, Japan to phase out nuclear power after a nuclear disaster in Japan. Germany’s final power plans left the grid in spring 2023.
Renewal or nuclear power?
The fact is that Rich Never -up did not choose to attend a meeting with a nuclear country called SPD aide. Schneider is officially responsible for nuclear security in Germany, including issues related to interim and final storage of nuclear waste.
“We have decided to phase out atomic power. It has been accepted by the society,” said the Schneider.
Official, Germany is focusing on infection in renewable energy, and a large proportion of IT energy is now generated from wind or solar energy. “There is no commitment ahead [to the nuclear industry]Nor would there be any, “Schneider said.
France, Germany supports all forms of energy
Disagreement between the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Environment was clear on nuclear power issues. In late May, Rich said in Brussels that when he came into energy production, it was “open to all technologies”.
The specific trigger was a joint paper by governments in Paris and Berlin, stating that the energy policy in the two countries would be applied on the basis of “climate neutrality, competition and sozignty.” In other words, according to the wishes of German Chancellor Frederick Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron, all forms of energy in the European Union are to be promoted as they are low emissions.
In France, it applies above all nuclear power plants. In fact, nuclear power is very low or emit a greenhouse gas during the plant operation and hence they are considered to be climate friendly by their supporters.
The danger of technology lies in controlling the nuclear chain reaction and nuclear waste, which remains radioactive for many thousands of years. According to the treaties of the European Union, each member state has the right to choose its energy mixture.
Major plans for new gas -powered power plants
Therefore, there is a possibility of more disagreement between rich and schiders on the issue of new gas -powered power plants.
Shortly after assuming the post, the CDU Minister announced a plan to construct 20 new gas -powered power plants. The previous government had announced a new construction to compensate for frequent supplies from solar and wind energy, but not in such a large number.
This is a cause of concern for the schidider, which is responsible for meeting Germany’s climate goals. In mid-May, on climate issues, the Specialist Council of the German Government warned that the goal of becoming climate-plate by 2045 should be a truly back-up by a solid plan from the government.
A warning from climate experts
The economy and environmental ministries have often collided on climate protection and energy policy issues. At the moment, the climate goals of the government are being specially helped, especially in the industry, especially in the industry, weak economy and as a result.
A member of the panel, Mark Oliver Betzuge, Director of the Institute of Energy at the University of Energy at the University of Energy, told Newsmagzine mirror: “At this time, it is not clear how the federal government intends to achieve the goal of climate neutrality by 2045.”
The construction of new gas -powered power plants is likely to make the scheme even more difficult. Although gas -powered power plants emit less greenhouse gases than people operating coal, 20 new plants will endanger climate goals.
