On 30 June 2025, a spring airlines going from Shanghai to Tokyo survived a regular flight crashed from Japan. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft suddenly caused a serious pressure problem in the cabin, causing the plane to be lowered. The aircraft was brought to 10,000 feet in just a few minutes from a height of 36,000 feet. Passengers felt as if the aircraft was going to fall victim to a major accident. But it is a matter of relief that the aircraft was safely landed at Kansai International Airport in Osaka and all the passengers were safe.

What happened during the flight?

The flight spring airlines were being run under the code-share between Japan and Japan Airlines and its number was JL8696/ij004. The flight was completely normal when the pilot received a malfunction in the cabin pressure system. In view of the possibility of potential ‘depression’ (fall in air pressure), the pilot announced the emergency and started the process of bringing the aircraft to a rapidly safe height (10,000 feet).

In just 10 minutes, the aircraft came down rapidly and during this time oxygen masks started falling over the passengers’ seat. Passengers told that it seemed as if death was standing in front. One passenger said that he had started writing important information like his bank account and will, because he did not feel that he would survive now.

Another passenger told that he was awake in shock and said, “Suddenly all oxygen masks opened when I was sleeping.” The third told that he was about to cry.

Passengers said that when the oxygen masks fell from above, there was chaos in the aircraft. A passenger told AP, “I heard a slow sound and the oxygen mask fell in a few seconds. The crew cried to put an oxygen mask and said that the aircraft had malfunctioned.”

Safe landing, relief to passengers

Despite this nervousness and chaos, the aircraft was safely launched at Kansai Airport in Osaka. The flight left from Pudong Airport in Shanghai at 5:48 pm and was to reach Narita Airport in Tokyo, but was landed in Osaka at 8:48 pm due to emergency.

The aircraft had 191 passengers and crew members. No one was hurt, although all the passengers had gone into deep shock. Airlines were provided assistance of 15,000 yen (about $ 93) to passengers, so that they could arrange for hotels and transportation.
