The firefighters fought through Thursday in the early hours of Thursday against the rapid spread of the wild -spreading wild in the Crete, the largest island in Greece.

The Greek Fire Brigade said that on Wednesday afternoon and strong winds again woke up the flames on the hill forests.
Water -releasing aircraft and helicopters were placed on the ground overnight, while more than 150 firefighters were trying to break the fire on the hills to slow down their advances.
The Associated Press (AP) news agency said, “This is a very difficult situation. The fire is very difficult to include. Now, they cannot include it.”
Greece is often hit by wildfire during warm and dry summer. The latest fire occurs when Europe faces a historical summer wave.
