As reported by several Portuguese media, the shoe factory in Silveiros/Barcelos district in northern Portugal 222 of the 1,000 employees were released at the end of May. The work in Silveiros was put into operation in 1991, as Gabor announced on his homepage. Gabor had previously been manufactured in Portugal for several years, but then moved to the Barcelos region. Gabor continues to publish on his homepage that around 85% of the overall shoes produced come from its own works in Europe. In addition to Portugal, this also includes the Banovce location in Slovakia. The remaining about 15% would be obtained from long -term partner companies in Portugal and Asia.
