Army killed 30 terrorists on the border Afghanistan – DW – 07/04/2025

The Pakistan Army said that it has killed more than 30 terrorists in the last three days in North Waziristan in the northern district, which is the border of Afghanistan.

According to Pakistan’s army, the militant belonged to the Pakistani Taliban or allied groups. A suicide bomber killed 16 Pakistani troops in the same area last week, claiming by Pakistan Taliban.

What has Pakistan said about killings?

On Friday, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif praised the security forces for “thwarting an infiltration attempt”.

A statement by his office stated, “The security forces demonstrated the preparation of exceptional professionalism, vigilance and prevented a possible destruction.”

“Large amounts of weapons, ammunition and explosives who were recovered.”

What is behind recent violence?

In April 2025, Pakistan’s army killed 54 rebels in the same region. Since the Taliban returned to power in 2021, violence has increased in the border areas of Pakistan. In recent months, this violence has been convicted on the Pakistan Taliban. The group is different, however, the Afghan is closely associated with the Taliban and operates in the northwest border with Afghanistan.

Pakistan has convicted a large -scale Afghanistan for allowing militants to operate and asked Afghanistan to stop the use of IT sector by “foreign screen”. Recently, Pakistan has discovered India allegedly discovered as Baloch Liberation Army and Pakistani Taliban.

Both Afghanistan and India have denied any participation with terrorist groups.

There has been an increase in allegations against India since 26 civilians were killed in a shooting in Kashmir region in April.

For the AFP news agency, over 290 people, mostly security officers, have been killed in attacks by armed groups since the beginning of 2025.
