Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanis on Saturday labeled as a “coward” for arson attack on a Melbourne syllabus.
The police is searching for a person who set the door in front of the building on Friday night, as about 20 people had dinner.
Australia has been facing a growing wave of antisemic events since the Israeli-Gaja war began in late 2023.
What did Anthony Albanis say?
In a statement, the Prime Minister said: “Arson attack on the synagogue in Eastern Melbourne is cowardly, is a work of violence and opponents, and there is no place in Australian society.”
Albanis said that he hoped that the culprit will be brought to justice rapidly and “that he is facing full force of the law, and anyone involved in this attack has to face the full strength of the law.”
What else do we know about the attack?
Police said that a person submerged the dual front doors of the city’s eastern Melbourne Hebrew Congress and installed it around 8 pm on Friday night.
The worshipers, who were sharing food to mark the Jewish day of comfort, were taken out through a rear door and no one was injured, the police statement continued.
Police said the firefighters extinguished the blast, which contained the front entrance.
Victoria State Police said they were investigating the “intentions and ideology” of the culprit.
Police said they believe that the culprit was a white man, who was old in the 30s.
Officials said they were investigating whether the attack was linked to the incident at an internal city restaurant on Friday night in which a person was arrested for the hanging policy.
According to reports, the Israeli restaurant was largely damaged.
Acting Victoria Police Commander Arca Dunston abolished the synagogue attack as a serious crime.
“I like to make it very clear that we believe that thesis crimes are disgusting and dependent. But at this stage, we are not announcing this terrorist incident,” Dunston told reporters.
A terrorism declaration opens up the investigation for more revival and consequently may result in allegations that punish for a long time.

The Jewish neighborhood in Melbourne and Sydney has collided with a wave of antisementic barbarity since Israel-Gaja on 7 October 2023.

Last December, two masked people hit the Adass Israel synagogue in the south -east of Melbourne, causing widespread damage by spreading a liquid accelerator with a broom through the building.
