Pakistani officials on Sunday arrested a suspect after a viral video on social media, in which a man and a woman were shot dead to marry against their family wishes.
The practice, known as “Honor Killing”, is quite popular in Pakistan and some neighboring countries, where the couple is killed to restore the social reputation and reputation of the family. Honor killing is therefore in another situation where the honor of the party has been affected by women’s actions.
In this example, the Unidified couple were shot dead on the orders of a local tribal council in the South -West Balochistan province, local authorities detected the Ephr Ant Investigation.
Provincial Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said in a statement that one of the suspects was arrested under terrorism laws after people were identified in the video.
What did the video show?
A video taken in a desert among pickup trucks, a copy of the Quran is being given to the woman. She tells a man: “Come, walk seven steps with me, after that you can shoot me.”
The man chased him for a few steps when he said, “You are only allowed to shoot me. Nothing more than this.”
The man then targeted the pistol at him and shot him three times. The woman did not cry or looked for mercy, but after the third shot, the bus fell to the ground. The video that showed the bloody corpse of a man lying on the ground. Men are then shown shooting in both bodies.

For oppressive practice
According to Pakistan’s Human Rights Commission, some 1,000 women are usually killed in Honor Killing in Pakistan, usually father, brothers or sons, every year.
In most cases, the killer survives punishment due to a controversial section in Pakistan’s Islamic law, which allows the victim’s relative to forgive the killer. While the nation ends the law in 2016, honor murders are still practiced.
Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khwaja Asif shared the video on X, urging people to stand against unjust and oppressive systems instead of increasing their vipon against the state.
