The study, for which 505 trading companies were interviewed with at least ten employees, makes it clear that many retailers perceive the low-price providers as a threat. “The competition must be designed fairly and consumer and environmental protection guaranteed,” says Bitkom manager Dr. Bernhard Rohleder.
85 % of the respondents see the EU as a duty to protect the internal market from non -European marketplaces. 87 % are in favor of tightening the import rules, in particular 76 % supports the abolition of the current duty -free limit of 150 euros.
In addition to the competition, the dealers provide the geopolitical situation: 47 % report delivery difficulties, 33 % are planning to reduce their range. 41 % want to become independent of non -European suppliers. Two thirds of the dealers see Germany at the beginning of a trade war.
