US President Donald Trump has imposed an additional 25 per cent tariff on India, due to which the total tariff is now 50 per cent. It seems that India’s Jid Bharat of Trump will immersed the American relationship.

Trump signed this order at a time when there were only 14 hours left for his already announced tariff to be implemented. After this order, a total tax will have to be paid on most of the goods sent from India to America. The first tariff will come into effect from August 7, while this new 25% tax will be applicable after 21 days i.e. 27 August 2025. However, some items will be released from this, such as the goods which have been loaded on the ship before the order is issued and is in the way of America. It has also been clarified in the order that this new tariff will be in addition to any tax or fee. However, if there is already a separate arrangement under an old American law, then this new tariff will not be applicable there.
