Now they increased it to 50 percent. After this order, the total tariff on Indian goods in America will be 50 percent.

Ever since Donald Trump came to power, he has been struggling to end the Russia-Ukraine war. He has made every effort, but did not get success. In such a situation, he has made India his weapon to break Russia in compulsion. It is well known that India buys oil from its friend Russia. Trump believes that Russia is using oil earnings in war. This is the reason that Trump feels that if India does not buy oil from Russia, then his back will break and will surrender in Putin war. But in reality there is nothing like this. India has made it clear that it buys oil from Russia according to its interactions.

India has reacted sharply to Donald Trump’s tariff. On Trump’s 50 percent tariff, India said that this move of America is unfair, indiscriminate and irrational. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that it is very unfortunate that the US has decided to impose additional fees on India. Also, India will take all necessary steps to protect its national interests.

America’s move is likely to have a wider impact in India. The effect of 50 percent tariff is expected to affect areas like textile, sea product and leather exports. Areas that will be damaged by these fees include textiles/ costumes, gems and jewelery, shrimp and shoes, animal products, chemicals, electricity and mechanical machinery. According to exporters, this move will have a serious impact on India’s export of $ 86 billion to America

These tariffs will not be applied to the drug, energy products (crude oil, sophisticated fuel, natural gas, coal and electricity) significant minerals and a wide range of electronics and semiconductors.

America’s first 25 per cent tariff will be applicable from August 7 and an additional 25 per cent tariff will be applicable after 21 days. In such a situation, India still has time to consider options. India can now talk to America on the trade deal and reduce this tariff. In 21 days of deferment, India and America can find a middle path by talking among themselves. Anyway, this trick of Trump is to put pressure on India. The second option will be that India challenges this tariff in the World Trade Organization i.e. WTO. The third option will be that India should now strengthen its trio with Russia and China.
