Majority of Germans against Sunday openings

The opinion research institute YouGov carried out a representative survey on behalf of the German Press Agency (dpa) and asked 2,006 people as to whether they would like more Sundays.

Accordingly, 34 % of those surveyed supported an expansion of Sundays that were open to the sales, 59 % answered no. Two thirds of the supporters stated that they wanted to be more flexible and more spontaneous when shopping. 42 % would not have enough time to shop during the week. 37 % would like to use Sunday more often to stroll. 59 % of supporters would like to buy clothing and shoes on Sunday.
