According to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), GDP increased by 0.1% in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the previous quarter. In the preliminary report in October, Destatis assumed an increase of 0.2%. Compared to the same quarter last year, GDP increased by 0.1% in price-adjusted terms, but fell by 0.3% in price- and calendar-adjusted terms, as there was one more working day available than in the same period last year.
In the trade, transport and hospitality sectors, price-, seasonally- and calendar-adjusted value added increased slightly by 0.1% compared to the previous quarter, after having fallen in the previous two quarters.
