Why only some countries have nuclear weapons, know why not make the rest?

After the recent defense deal between Saudi and Pakistan, a debate over nuclear weapons has started once again. Some are calling it a nuclear ambrala, while some are saying that Pakistan hired its nuclear weapons. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khwaja Asif has denied this, but the question is why Saudi is having such a need. When all the countries of the world have nuclear weapons, then why cannot Saudi not join this list? Why can’t all countries make nuclear weapons?

Nuclear weapons are different from normal bombs. They produce terrible energy by breaking or adding atoms of elements like uranium or plutonium. These bombs are considered to be havoc. Only a small atomic bomb can cause the death of thousands of people, apart from this, the radiation emanating from it makes people sick for many years. That is why the bomb is also considered an enemy of humanity.

History of nuclear weapons, how did this race start?

The US made the first atomic bomb during the Second World War. In 1945, the same bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, in which millions of people died. After this, the race for weapons started and the Soviet Union i.e. Russia, Britain, France and China also made nuclear weapons. After this, there was a fear in powerful countries that everyone will create a nuclear weapon. That is why the nuclear non -proliferation treaty was brought, which was called NPT.

Nuclear non -proliferation treaty became a big reason

The nuclear non -proliferation treaty brought in 1968 agreed and signed it from all the countries of the world. A total of 191 countries have signed this treaty from 1970. According to the Nuclear Non -Proliferation Treaty, only America, Russia, Britain, France and China can keep nuclear weapons, those who have signed this treaty have promised that they will never make nuclear weapons. However, India did not sign the treaty, considering it as opposition to equality, only five countries were allowed to make nuclear weapons. Later India became a nuclear weapon -rich country.

India created nuclear weapons, so why can’t everyone make it?

International law: Apart from the NPT, a proposal was passed in the United Nations Security Council that no country can make nuclear weapons. If a country tests, UNSC can ban it. For example, when North Korea tested in 2006, the US, the European Union imposed economic sanctions. Earlier, India was also banned due to the tests of 1974 and 1998. Although India did not sign the Nuclear Non -Proliferation Treaty, it was not considered direct opposition.

Technical challenges: It is not easy to make nuclear weapons. For this, uranium is needed or plutonium, which is expensive. This is an impossible thing for small countries, if a country also opens a nuclear center, then it has to give information to IAEA, this organization also inspects from time to time.

restrictions: Many countries tried to make nuclear weapons, but stopped. South Africa began work on a atomic bomb in the 1980s, but in 1990 it destroyed it. Libya and Iraq also took steps in this direction, but due to America’s pressure, they had to shut down it.

What is India to believe?

India’s attitude is of no first use in the case of atomic bombs, India considers nuclear weapons to be safety, but not the path of peace, if most countries of the world have nuclear bombs, then a nuclear cold war will start.
