What kind of visas do America give to Indian people? What does a visa mean?

US President Donald Trump has increased the fee of H-1B visa. This has caused panic in the world. Especially for the IT sector, it is considered a big shock. However, this is not just the only visa that is released by the US. According to the US State Department, a total of more than 20 types of non -immigrant visas are issued by the US, while the US also issues 5 to 6 immigrants. There are some visas among them which are more suitable for Indians.

The number of Indians in America is quite good. Every year a large number of youth here are shifted to America. Looking at the figure of last year itself, more than 10 lakh non -immigrants i.e. non -residential visas were issued by the American. The same trend continues this year. However, Indian youth have been shocked by the increased fees on H-1B visa.

Two Visa categories in America

Visa has two main categories in the US, in which non -immigrant visa is temporary, that is, it is taken for a few months or years, after which India has to return. Apart from this, there is a immigrant visa. That is, it is taken to settle permanently in America. Non -residential visa can take anyone who does not intend to settle in America. For this, DS-160 form is filled and interviews and fixed fees have to be paid. India has American embassy in Mumbai, Chennai Hyderabad, Kolkata and New Delhi where this process is completed. The same immigrant visa is like a green card, where you can always live in America, can work. However, its process is long.

How many types of non -immigrant visas?

1- B-1/B-2 visa (Tourist or Business Visa): This is the most common, although it is available only for tour or business. These include B-1 business meeting, conference or negotiation and B-2 to visit, vacation, medical treatment or family. This is for a maximum of six months.

2- F-1/M-1 Visa (Student Visa): F-1 is issued for studies in university or college, while M-1 is issued for Visa Vocational or Training Course. This visa is issued according to the duration of the course. The time of the course is given additional 2 months.

3- J-1 Visa (Exchange Visitor): This visa is given to those who go to America under Cultural Exchange. For example, professors, researchers, doctors who are going for a research or medical conference get this visa, its maximum time is 2 years.

4- H-1B visa (Specialized Work): This is the visa, whose fees have been increased by Trump. This visa is for high-skilled jobs like IT, engineering. For this, Bachelor Degree is also necessary along with special knowledge jobs. Its maximum time limit is 3 years, which can be extended for 6 years.

5- L-1 Visa (Intra-Company Transfer): If the internal is transferred to someone, then it has to apply for L-1 visa, it is especially for the employee of the multinational company. In this, the maximum time limit for manager rank is 7 years, while 5 years for specialist.

6- O1 Visa (Extraordinary Ability): This visa is for talented people in science, arts, business or sports. That is, those with an award, recognition get this visa, such as scientists, artists, players, this visa is for them.

These are immigrant visas

1- Family-based: The first visa family based in the Immigrant Visa category is found, this visa can take this people, in whose family someone has got a US citizen, or he is a green card holder. Among these, the Imidiet Relatives get priority.

2- Employment-based (EB-1 to EB-5): It gets according to your work, if you are a scientist then you will be considered the top talent and you will get the EB-1 category visa, EB-2/3 are for other professionals, while EB-5 is for investors.

3- Diversity Visa (Lottery): This visa is only for countries with low immigration, Indians cannot apply for it.

4- Special Immigrant: This visa is for refugee, adoption or special case, which is very low.
