The residents of Zurich will decide Sunday on a resolution on Sunday, aimed at severely restricted the use of leaf blower and leaf vacuum.
Officials say this measure will limit noise and dust pollution. If the Zurich citizen supports the proposal in Sunday’s referendum, the gas-powered leaf blower and the leaf vacuum will be completely banned from the most populous city in Switzerland.
If the proposed measures are passed, only electrical appliances will be used to blow up dirt and debris. And that too for three months in a year – from October to December. Officials say that special permissions will be required to use electrical equipment at other times, and their use will be given in extraordinary circumstances.
Supporters of the move have complained that leaf blower and leaf vacuum are loud and spread dust, causing both noise and air pollution. They claim that devices are harmful to find microorganisms as bacteria, and instead recommend using rakes to remove leaves and remove waste.
However, opponents of the ban say the proposed ban will make life unnecessarily difficult for many people.
They believe that the vote will be “for the expression of a fruitless and anti -social culture of prohibition.”
