Great Britain and Palestinian people can be described as a disturbed relationship, even before the news comes out that the British Prime Minister Tony Blair can play a key in Blair Gaza, holds a ceasefire.
But it was long ago in 1922, that London was given a mandate on Palestine by the United Nations – an early precursor for today’s nations – after the end of the Ottoman Empire.
However, at that time the British Foreign Secretary, Arthur Balfor, promised Zione leaders in his country so much that a “Jewish motherland” could be installed inside Palestine. His letter on this subject came to be known as the Balfor Declaration.
As a result of the letter, Jewish migration for Palestine was increased. Even though the Balfor declaration said that Nothing should bias the rights of the local Arab population, the people living there and then the Arab leaders in other countries, felt betrayed by the British.
This marked the onset of historical and ongoing problems between Israeli and Palestinians. And even Britain faced a conflict of rising problems and interests, gave back the mandate to the United Nations in 1947, and the United Nations proposed two states with each other, the thesis problems have never been solved.
‘Peace Board’
All this was clearly happy ahead of Tony Blair’s time. But now it seems that designers can end with another type of mandate in the region, 72 years old, 72 years old. According to the recently released peace plan by US President Doonal Trump.
Trump wanted to end the struggle in Gaza, which began in late 2023, when the Gaza-based terrorist group Hamas attacked Israel, resulting in about 1,200 people. As a result, the Israeli military campaign has killed more than 65,000 people in Gaza.
For the Trump scheme, after negotiating after a ceasefire, Gaza should be run by a technical government, maintained by a so -called “peace board”. Trump will be the chairman of that board, but it seems that Blair is also for playing a major role. The latter has come for further criticism in the region.
“I think it is better that he allows States and Palestinians in his country to rule over the state by the States and Palestinians in his country … instead of subjected to another colonial rule.”
The UNS special synergy for Franceska Albani, West Bank and Gaza, which is even more derogatory on social media.
In his context of the Hague, Albani is probably highlighting Blair’s most dark chapter in political history: his role in the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. The first selected in 1997, he became Labor’s longest serving Prime Minister.
Irish helped eliminate troubles
A part of his earlier popularity was due to the fact that in 1998, he helped to interact on the Good Friday Agreement, which ended the years of sectarian violence in Northern Ireland.
But following the attacks on New York on 11 September 2001, Blair was seen to stand almost unconditionally behind US President George Bush’s “War on Terror”. Such clear obedience made Blair a matter of great criticism and some called him the “Poodle” of America.
Two years later, the Iraq war began, both Bush and Blair argued that the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussain had weapons of mass destruction and therefore had to stop, a claim that was later refused.
Thirteen years later, a seven -year official investigation of the war led by retired civil servant John Chilkot reached adverse decisions. Intelligence reports about alleged weapons for large -scale destruction should have been questioned and the attack should not go forward.
The British soldiers were poorly prepared in Iraq and Blair often defended against the allegations that he is a war criminal. The committee’s report concluded that Blair “did not take a personal and protesting decision to cheat Parliament or the public.”
Blair accepted the findings of interrogation and went to express “grief, regret and forgiveness” for mistakes.
8 years as Middle East Aids
However, despite all that, Blair remained active in the Middle East. The next day after resigning as the British Prime Minister in 2007, Blair was appointed by the so-called “Quartet”, the Middle East Envoy, who works on solving the Israeli-Filistini conflict and includes the United Nations, the European Union and Russia.
But here too Blair came for heavy criticism, mostly due to its personal business interests in the Middle East. Hey, the situation for eight years but made a little progress.
In fact, Palestine alleged that Blair favored Israel in the struggle.
“He did nothing for the cause of Palestinian cause, but was used by Israel to justify his occupation and settlement policy,” former Palestinian negotiator and then Prime Minister of Palestinian Authority said, “Mohammed Shutayeh said at that time. “We are happy that Tony Blair is going. He should have resigned a long time ago.”
Blair then remained active in business and therefore in 2016 a think tank, Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, or TBI. Blair is known for advising autocratic leaders, discovering Rwanda’s Paul Kagame and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.
TBI employees were reportedly involved in coming with the post -war reconstruction plan for Gaza, a claim TBI denied.
The British newspaper The Guardian said in July, “Tony Blair’s think tank worked with a post -wise Gaza Yojana project, including the construction of a ‘Trump Rivera’ and a manufacturing sector named Ever Musk.”
In February 2025, Donald Trump posted on the AI-Janit video depicting “Trump Riviera” vision, which led to widespread resentment.
But what could be the best as his checker history in the Middle East, it does not seem that Blair has thought twice about playing a possible new role in the post -war “peace board”.
In a statement, he prepared the new Trump scheme as “bold and intelligent” and “the best chance to end two years of war, sorrow and suffering”. However, he did not comment on whether he would play a major role within Himofo.
