Bitcoin (BTC) continues to expand in El Salvador beyond Bukele’s Bitcoin Law.
Osorio is optimistic about the price of bitcoin and believes that the bullish cycle is not over yet.
Napoleón Osorio, founder and director of BitDriver, shared his interesting path to bitcoin adoption. After becoming unemployed as a banker in 2019, Osorio worked as an Uber driver and, in 2021, a foreigner — who turned out to be John Denhit, founder of Mi Primer Bitcoin — “evangelized” him in the digital currency.
Osorio saw the business opportunity and became one of the first to announce transfers in El Salvador accepting bitcoin (BTC). This decision was strategic: I knew that foreigners would want to pay in BTC, while local taxi drivers would not accept it due to volatility and the need for daily liquidity. BitDriver, which was born with three people, today is a legally incorporated company in El Salvador that employs 21 drivers and accepts full payments in Bitcoin for transportation and tourism services.
