America bans romance with Chinese citizens

This case is being considered as the first action under the recently implemented ban, which prohibited such relationships of American personnel with Chinese citizens. According to an earlier report by the Associated Press, this ban was imposed in the last days of the tenure of Democratic Party leader and former US President Joe Biden. Under this, American government personnel posted in China, their families and contract employees with security clearance were prohibited from having romantic or sexual relations with any Chinese citizen.

Foreign Ministry dismissed the officer

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tommy Pigott said that the diplomat concerned has been dismissed. He said that this action was taken after review of the matter by US President Donald Trump and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio. Pigott said, ‘Under the leadership of Secretary Rubio, we will maintain a policy of zero tolerance towards those employees who are found to be undermining the national security of the country.’ The statement did not reveal the name of the diplomat involved, but a secret video shared online by James O’Keefe, a right-wing activist, showed the diplomat and his Chinese girlfriend.
