BlackRock Registers Staked Ethereum ETF

BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has filed to register a staked ether (ETH) cryptocurrency exchange-traded fund (ETF).

The application for the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF was filed yesterday, November 19, in the Division of Corporations of the Department of State of Delaware.

This is a prior and necessary step to the official application for an ETF with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

In other words, it is not yet a formal request under the Securities Act of 1933, but it does make clear that BlackRock is paving the way to request approval of a product based on the Ethereum cryptocurrency capable of generating returns.

Eric Balchunas, senior analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, said that the application of BlackRock to launch the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF will be presented soon.
