Chapadmalal to become an Ethereum popup city

The Argentine Atlantic coast will be the scene of a community event inspired by the Ethereum ecosystem: a popup city temporary dedicated to the intersection between technology and culture. This concept refers to an emerging temporary city or village, created for a specific period for a group of people with the same interests.

The event will take place during February 2026 in Chapadmalala small seaside town south of Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires. It is organized by LambdaClass, a firm specialized in distributed systems, machine learning, compilers and cryptography.

This will be held in advance of ETHDenver, an Ethereum community festival in Colorado, Denver, United States, which has its 2026 edition from February 17 to 21.

The initiative in Chapadmalal, called “Tech x Culture Popup City”, hopes to host participants from around the world to share ideas, collaborate and create in around 2-3 weeks.

The program will include technical talks, hackathons, live showsand spaces dedicated to the construction of projects. This at a time when the Argentine coast is usually filled with tourism for summer vacations.

“We are putting together a popup city of tech and culture in Chapadmalal this February. 2-3 weeks of tech talks, hackathons, live shows, raves, coffee and wine,” LambdaClass announced in a post on X, inviting the community to join.

This type of experiences seeks to encourage collaboration between developers, researchers and creators in immersive environments. It is expected to attract AI teams, video game studios, fintech, robotics companies, cybersecurity, among other branches.

That is why the organizers have opened a form to measure participation and coordinate the experience. This is aimed at both those who want to attend and contribute in some way.

For several years now, Argentina has stood out for having the most active Ethereum communities. As CriptoNoticias reported, in November the DevConnect held in Buenos Aires broke records for tickets sold, and many users commented that hotel demand in the city was at its maximum.
