Russia continues attack on eastern Ukraine, says Kiev does not want peace

Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed it is Kiev that is not seeking a peaceful resolution to the conflict despite Russian attacks on the cities of Mirnohrad, Rodynske and Artemivka in Ukraine’s eastern region of Donetsk.
As well as Hulyupol and Stepnohirsk in the Zaporizhia region.

Ukraine rejected this claim, as well as Moscow’s claim that the cities of Mirnohrad and Huliaipol were completely captured by Russian forces.

The Ukrainian military said the situation in these areas was “difficult” but that “defensive operations” were still ongoing.

“A large part of Hulyupol is under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the Southern Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Telegram, reporting “fierce fighting” in the city.

Today, everyone is looking to Florida, where US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet to discuss a major diplomatic effort to end the war nearly four years after Russia’s invasion began.

At the same time, fierce fighting continued in eastern Ukraine. Kiev has denied Russian claims that it has completely captured the cities of Hulyapol and Mynohrad.
