Downing Street on Tuesday rejected claims that it pressured officials to fast-track the process to appoint Peter Mandelson as UK envoy to the US. Olly Robbins, who was fired last week over the scandal, told MPs that Prime Minister Keir Starmer had a “dismissive attitude” towards the security vetting process.
