Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that his country is ready to hold talks with Russia in Azerbaijan, where he is currently visiting.
The announcement was made after the Ukrainian leader met his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.

Zelensky arrived in Azerbaijan on Friday to sign agreements on defense and energy cooperation after a visit to Saudi Arabia, where he met Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Many killed in Russian attacks across Ukraine
Meanwhile, Russian drone and missile attacks on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro on Saturday killed at least five people and injured more than 30 others, according to local officials.
The bodies of all four were found in the ruins of a house that was destroyed in overnight attacks, according to regional head Oleksandr Ganza.
“The Russians have been attacking Dnipro and other cities and communities almost all night,” Ganja wrote on Telegram.
He also said that another person was killed in an attack on another apartment building in the city later.
In the southern region of Zaporizhia, a Russian drone hit a civilian minibus, killing one person and injuring four, the head of the region’s administration, Ivan Fedorov, said on Telegram.
Russian attacks overnight also targeted Ukraine’s southwestern Odessa region, wounding two people there.
On Saturday, regional head Oleh Kipar said residential buildings, port infrastructure and cars had been damaged in the south of the region.
Russian drone crashes in Romania
As Russia attacked Ukraine’s Odessa region, a drone fell in neighboring Romania. The drone crashed in a residential area of the city of Galaţi near the Danube River separating the two countries.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, NATO member Romania has repeatedly experienced violations of its airspace and found fragments of drones over its territory.
However, according to local media reports, this is the first time that Russian drone debris has caused physical damage on Romanian soil.
“A drone with a possible explosive charge crashed in a populated area,” emergency services said in a separate statement.
There were no injuries, but a power pole and the outbuilding of a house were damaged. Officials said gas supply to the area has been cut as a precautionary measure.
Foreign Minister Oona Toiu summoned the Russian ambassador, according to a ministry statement.
