Why did Elon Musk change his name?
Alan Mosca may not have said anything clearly about changing his name and profile picture on X, but several meanings are inferred from it. According to a BBC report, Musk’s move caused a stir in the cryptocurrency world, causing the value of Memecoin, a digital currency inspired by internet memes, which also has the same name, to rise significantly.
Following Musk’s change of handle, the value of the Kecius Maximus cryptocurrency increased more than 900% as of Tuesday afternoon, according to CoinGecko. However, it was not immediately clear whether Musk — who has previously shown support for memcoins — has a connection to Caesius Maximus.
According to the report, Musk has influenced cryptocurrency prices through his comments on social media in the past, but it is currently unknown if he has any connection to this particular currency.
What is the meaning of Caisius Maximus?
Cecius appears to come from the Latin word caec, which is the equivalent of “laugh out loud”, but is now often associated with the alt-right. Kek is also the name of the ancient Egyptian god of darkness, sometimes depicted with the head of a frog.
Meanwhile, Maximus is being linked to the name of Russell Crowe’s heroic character Maximus Decimus Meridius from the movie Gladiator. Musk’s new profile photo shows Pepe in Roman military uniform, holding what appears to be a gaming console.
Does the change in Elon Musk X profile have anything to do with gaming?
According to a report by the New York Post, Tesla founder Musk hinted at the change in his handle in a post on Tuesday (December 31), writing: “Kekius Maximus will soon reach level 80 in Hardcore PoE.” A reference to the popular video game “Path of Exile 2”, which Musk is known to play.
