Cafecito integrates the wARS stablecoin into its app

  • The integration is carried out through Amplify, a cryptocurrency to fiat payment gateway.

  • Payments with wARS are processed on the Base network within the platform.

The Ripio exchange announced this April 15, 2026 the integration of its wARS stablecoin into the Cafecito platform, enabling payments with cryptocurrencies to support content creators, companies and organizations in Argentina.

The alliance allows that Users make financial contributions using wARSa digital asset linked 1:1 to the Argentine peso, directly from wallets. The functionality is incorporated as a new option within the Cafecito payment flow, where it is now possible to select “pay with cryptocurrencies” and complete the transaction through the Base network.

The implementation is done through Amplify, a payment gateway that allows platforms and businesses to accept cryptocurrencies and receive the equivalent in local currency automatically. In this case, the integration of wARS in Amplify enables its use not only in Cafecito, but also in other services that already use this payment infrastructure.

wARS is a stablecoin issued by Ripio whose objective is to offer value stability in volatile economic environments, as reported by CriptoNoticias. By operating on networks such as Ethereum and Base, it allows fast transfers without banking intermediaries, maintaining parity with the local currency.

Cafecito, for its part, is a crowdfunding platform widely used in Argentina, which facilitates one-time or recurring donations to projects and creators. With this integration, it expands its payment options towards the cryptocurrency ecosystem, incorporating digital tools that seek to simplify the financial support process.

The initiative is part of the regional strategy of Ripio based on local stablecoins, under the wFIAT model. The company has already developed similar assets in other Latin American marketssuch as wBRL in Brazil and wMXN in Mexico, aimed at replicating the value of national currencies within blockchain infrastructures.
