From Yaoundé to Bamenda, Cameroonians await Pope Leo XIV’s visit

Pope Leo XIV visits Cameroon from April 15th to 18th. During his stay, the pontiff will visit three cities in the country: Yaoundé, the capital; Douala, the economic hub; and Bamenda, the capital of the Northwest region, which has been gripped by a socio-political crisis for a decade. Two days before his arrival, the Christian community of Cameroon is preparing for Leo XIV, who will be the third pontiff to set foot on Cameroonian soil, as FRANCE 24’s team on the ground reports.
