Four people were injured in a black bear attack in Japan’s northeastern city of Fukushima on Tuesday, according to officials and media reports.
What do we know about violence?
The bear first injured two employees of the Fukushima Steel Works Company, and local police and fire departments were deployed to the site of the attack. Officials had received a call from the company that ’employees have been asked.’
The bear then attacked another 60-year-old man in a different company. It also attacked an 80-year-old woman living in the same neighbourhood.
Only one of the bear’s victims was seriously injured. The remaining victims suffered only minor injuries.
The bear has not yet been captured by authorities and is believed to be inside another company where it was last seen. Police officers wielding long sticks have surrounded the company grounds.
