The Bayeux tapestry arrives in London for display at British Museum

The thousand-year-old, 70-meter-long Bayeux Tapestry, which depicts William the Conqueror’s campaign in medieval England, has been carefully removed from its transport crate following its transfer from France. Conservators will begin a detailed condition assessment on Monday before the tapestry is installed in a specially designed display case later in the week.
