A British opposition lawmaker on Tuesday accused a French naval patrol vessel of firing “warning shots” while he was being interviewed aboard a fishing boat in the English Channel, an allegation French authorities deny. France said the gunfire was part of a routine training exercise conducted under international safety rules.
