Solana and Google Cloud launch payment agent gateway with artificial intelligence

  • Payment is settled in stablecoins and credited to suppliers in fiat currency.

  • The idea is to close the gap between autonomous agents and companies, says Solana.

The Solana Foundation, in alliance with Google Cloud, announced yesterday, May 5, 2026, the launch of Pay.sh, a payment gateway designed to allow autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) agents to access and pay for business services instantly.

This tool uses the Solana network to settle transactions with stablecoins and, according to the informative statement, eliminates traditional bureaucratic processes such as billing account creation.

The development of this service arises in response to the need to close the technical gap between cloud infrastructure and independent AI agents.

As Fundación Solana explained, through this integration, “agents can discover, access and pay per request for any API autonomously and instantly.”

The integration with Google Cloud stands out because tools such as Gemini, BigQuery and Google’s Vertex AI will be supported through payments on the Solana network, according to the Foundation. «No accounts. No API keys. “No subscriptions,” the organization emphasized.

To operate, the user links a Solana wallet to AI interfaces such as Claude Code, Codex or Hermes, which are software systems capable of performing complex programming and data analysis tasks without human intervention constant.

The operation of Pay.sh is based on the deposit of funds using credit cards or stablecoins, in a process that – according to the statement – lasts 60 seconds.

Once configured, the AI agent can explore a unified marketplace of API access points—communication bridges between programs—and pay directly for the specific use it requires. Solana assures that “the payment is the credential.”

Technically, the platform acts as a coordination layer that uses the x402 protocol, an open payments standard designed for commerce between agents, applications and web servers.

This system is complemented by the automatic payments protocol (MPP), allowing the transaction to be managed automatically in Solana and settled to suppliers in fiat currency.

The launch of Pay.sh comes amid growing competition to dominate payments infrastructure for AI. For example, Anthropic, an American artificial intelligence company focused on security and creator of the Claude model, presented templates to automate financial processes such as audits and regulatory compliance, a fact reported by CriptoNoticias.

Likewise, TON Tech, the infrastructure arm of The Open Platform, implemented specific artificial intelligence agents for Telegram, demonstrating a global trend towards the integration of language models with cryptocurrency networks to facilitate operational autonomy.
