The European Union on Monday approved new sanctions on Israeli settlers “guilty of supporting the extremist and violent colonization of the West Bank”, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said on social media. Israel called the sanctions “arbitrary and political” and vowed to stand ‘”for the right of Jews” to settle in the West Bank.
