Israel intensified air strikes across southern and eastern Lebanon on Monday after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to “crush” Hezbollah, deepening fears of a wider regional conflict. The escalation comes despite an April ceasefire and as another round of US-Iran talks takes place in Doha in a bid to negotiate terms for a broader Middle East peace deal.
