The conflict in the Middle East is pushing millions towards hunger due to high oil prices, the UN food agency, the World Food Programme, said on Friday. Short supply of fertilizer.
A new report from WFP Analyzed three countries and found that an additional 2.5 million people in Somalia, 1.3 million in Sri Lanka and 2.3 million in Afghanistan are struggling to meet basic food needs due to the crisis.

“In many cases, the poorest families around the world, far from the epicenter of the crisis, are being hardest hit.”

US says Iranian missiles headed for Hormuz, Gulf neighbors intercepted
US Central Command said the US had intercepted “numerous Iranian ballistic missiles and drones” launched towards the strategic Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf states.
In a statement on Thursday, US CENTCOM said Iran fired ballistic missiles towards Kuwait and Bahrain hours after the US shot down four Iranian drones, posing an “immediate threat to regional maritime traffic.”
“Preliminary assessments indicate that six missiles launched by Iran were intercepted and the seventh did not reach its intended target.” US Central Command said.
“There are currently no reports of harm to US personnel, and Iranian claims of damage to the US 5th Fleet headquarters in Bahrain are false.”

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said Saturday morning that it targeted US bases in the Gulf region.
“Following the invasion of pedophiles and terrorists by US forces into Sirik and Qeshm islands, enemy positions in the area were attacked with air missiles,” state broadcaster IRIB quoted the Revolutionary Guard as saying.
Kuwait said its air defenses responded to “hostile” drones and missiles, while Bahrain activated its air raid sirens.

Kuwait’s military said early Saturday that its air defenses responded to “hostile” drone and missile attacks. It did not specify their exact origin.
“The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces has confirmed that the explosions that could be heard are the result of intercepting hostile attacks by air defense systems,” the Kuwaiti military said on Twitter.
The attack comes days after an attack on Kuwait’s international airport that killed one person and injured dozens of others.
