Eight people are feared dead after a B-52 bomber crashed at a military base in California, the US Air Force said Monday.
“Early indications are that the accident could not have been avoided,” Edwards Air Force Base said on Friday.
The aircraft was a Boeing B-52 Stratofortress which entered service in 1955. The crew aboard the aircraft were engaged in a routine test mission before the disaster.
The cause of the accident is now under investigation.
