The Outdoor 2025 (previously mostly referred to as outdoor by ISPO) should increase the number of exhibitors and visitors with a relaunch and new concept. With 20% more exhibitors and visitors, trade fair prices should be reduced by 20%. Since these goals have not been achieved, the organizing EOG (European Outdoor Group) and ISPO have decided to cancel them instead this year. Eog Director Christian Schneidermeier: “Despite the most intensive efforts, from a new trade fair concept about intensive discussions and Appeals, we currently have a registration that goes out not to achieve the goals set for the outdoor 2025. If we cannot achieve these goals, I see greater chances as risks not to let the fair take place this year. At the same time, the strategic partnership with Messe Munich will be expanded for the future. ”The cancellation should only be a break. Therefore, the strategic cooperation between EOG and Messe Munich was extended until 2028 and a return of the Outdoor 2026 was announced, as Schneidermeier explains: “We will use the year 2025 to carry out the necessary analyzes in peace and to derive the necessary measures in 2026 To be able to get started properly -with new names on the board, fresh ideas and convincing formats that offer the industry participants real added value. ”
The outdoor industry has repeatedly emphasized that it would need a global platform for networking and information exchange, emphasize the trade fair organizers. There are still two appointments for this year: From December 2 to 4, the ISPO Munich 2025 will take place, during the original outdoor appointment from May 19 to 21, there should be a sustainability conference.
A week before the cancellation, the EOG already sent an appeal to the industry to commit itself to the new outdoor. At the time, there was more registrations than at the same time in the previous year, but not enough to bear the new concept.
