When reporters asked about the prospects for peace in the Middle East, Biden said he thinks there is an opportunity to end the conflict between Israel and Iran for a while. “We believe that there is a possibility of a ceasefire in Lebanon, while in Gaza it will be difficult, but we have to be sure what happens next,” he said.
According to Biden, Israeli officials considered for about two weeks how they would respond to the approximately 200 ballistic missiles fired by Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had expressed his desire to consult Biden first, but this discussion became possible only on October 10. In this situation, it is clear from Biden’s statement that America is actively working to resolve this crisis.
