Globetrotter joins climate protection network – schuhkurier

The Outdoor Retailer Climate Commitment (ORCC) is a network of large outdoor retailers committed to adhering to science-based measures to achieve the Paris 1.5 degree goals. Now Globetrotter has also joined the network. The voluntary commitments include measuring the carbon footprint in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, setting targets to reduce their emissions, taking measures to achieve climate protection goals and submitting a publicly accessible progress report annually. Globetrotter CEO Andreas Vogler says about joining: “In order to further advance climate protection, we all have to intensify our efforts. An important key is collaboration within the industry. That’s why I’m pleased that we’re now bringing our expertise to the ORCC.” Globetrotter would like to share its expertise with competitors and use synergies. CSR manager Fabian Nendza adds: “We have to tackle Scope 3 emissions, i.e. the indirect emissions of CO2 in the upstream and downstream supply chain, and do so as effectively as possible, i.e. reduce the effort on all sides and focus on impact .”

The founders of the ORCC are Bergfreunde, Bergzeit, Athletes and Yonderland. The other members are Ellis Brigham, Sport Conrad, Globetrotter, Schuster, Sport Pursuit and Bründl. The network was founded in 2021 and has been supported by the European Outdoor Group since 2022.
