Uttar Pradesh Police has received the DNA report of former Samajwadi Party leader Nawab Singh Yadav, accused of raping a minor girl in Kannauj district. According to SP Amit Kumar, Nawab Singh Yadav’s DNA sample has matched, which proves that he was involved in the crime and the girl was raped. Further legal action is expected to be taken on the basis of this evidence. Yadav, who is said to be close to Samajwadi Party leader Dimple Yadav, who was MP from Kannauj, is currently in jail in this case. The girl’s aunt took her to Yadav’s private inter college on the night of 11 and 12 August on the pretext of getting her a job. She has also been arrested.

According to news agency ANI, Kannauj ASP Amit Kumar Anand said, “Forensic evidence was collected from the spot in connection with this case, which was sent to FSL. The FSL report has been issued, which confirms the incident of rape. Further investigation is underway.”

Following the court order, Kannauj police collected DNA samples from Yadav on August 16. According to a police officer, the samples were taken by a team of doctors at the district jail. Circle Officer (CO) of Kannauj Sadar, Kamlesh Kumar, said that Yadav agreed to give his DNA sample when asked by the judge during the court hearing.
