These are the plans for the new shoes concept

With the new date, says Igedo Managing Director Ulrike Kähler, Igedo Exhibitions wants to position itself at the beginning of the order round and give the industry the opportunity to exchange ideas about trends and tendencies at an early stage.

With the new date, Igedo Exhibitions is fulfilling a wish that has been increasingly expressed by trade and industry in recent months: an opening trade fair to mark the start of the order period. The styles and collections for A/W 2025/26 will therefore be on display in Düsseldorf on two dates: From January 25 to 27, the Fashn Rooms will run with women’s, men’s and accessories. One week later, the shoe industry will appear with Shoes.

“It was important for us to make a statement while the trade fair was still running. We are fulfilling the request for an early date and now have the opportunity to work on the design together with our exhibitors,” says Ulrike Kähler in an interview with schuhkurier. As an alternative to the previous concept of rented stand space, there could also be new variants such as sponsorship packages, where exhibitors can design their appearance individually. The aim is to install an arena as a meeting place for trade and industry, where exchange, information and inspiration are the focus. All segments from women’s and men’s shoes to children’s shoes are to be presented. The new format will be flanked by a players party, a lecture program and an offer on the topic of circular fashion/digital passport. And work is also being done on the title: in the future, the name Igedo will be more in focus again.

Similar to the early date in February, there will also be a new date in the summer. Accordingly, Shoes will also take place at the start of the season; details are still being worked out. A change of location in the summer is also possible, says Kähler. The alternatives are currently being analyzed. She would like to continue to have a constructive exchange with trade and industry in order to breathe life into the new approach, emphasizes the trade fair director.
