
Soybean News : The government has given a big relief to soybean farmers. It is reported that the central government will now buy soybean to support soybean prices below MSP. The government will buy soybean at the rate of Rs 4892 per quintal. Let us tell you that purchases will be made from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana. Soybean will be purchased under the Price Support Scheme (PSS). Soybean prices are being sold below MSP in the markets. NAFED and NCCF Central Nodal Agencies will buy soybean.
Talking about this step of the government Atul Chaturvedi, Chairman of APOA Atul says that there was no need for the government to buy soybean. Instead of buying soybean at MSP, the government should have increased the import duty on edible oil. The government will focus more on Maharashtra. Atul further said that in view of the elections, the central government will focus on Maharashtra. He further said that the prices of soybean can also be increased by increasing the import duty.
Atul Chaturvedi said that the government takes decisions after considering many things. Disposal of soybean meal has become a big issue. Farmers of MP will bring the crop to Maharashtra and sell it.
Rajesh G. Patel of GGN Research Rajesh says that the price of soybean in the markets is less than the MSP. Soybean farmers are not getting any benefit. Rajesh further said that purchasing soybean at MSP is a good decision taken by the government and farmers will benefit from it. Sowing of soybean can increase due to the benefit to the farmers.
