Today the Meteorological Department has issued a fog warning in many states including Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, UP. Cold wave has been continuing in most places since last week. The Meteorological Department says that the cold may increase further in the coming days. Here in UP, the Meteorological Department has issued a cold day alert on the first day of the year. Weather condition in Delhi
There is dense fog in Delhi-NCR since Wednesday morning. The temperature is also very low and people have to resort to bonfires to escape the cold. The Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy sky in Delhi today. IMD says that there is a possibility of fog or light fog in most areas of the capital on Wednesday and moderate fog at some places. According to the Meteorological Department, the wind speed in Delhi is expected to increase to 14 to 18 kilometers per hour on Wednesday afternoon. By evening it will gradually reduce to less than 8 kilometers per hour. Today the maximum temperature is expected to be 17 and the minimum temperature will be 8 degree Celsius.
Cold wave outbreak in Kashmir, mercury dropped to minus 11 degrees
Cold has become a problem for the people in Kashmir valley. The minimum temperature in Gulmarg, a tourist spot famous for ‘skiing’ in Kashmir, was recorded at minus 11.5 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has predicted light snowfall on the first day of the new year and moderate snowfall later.
