Tokenized Argentine Peso Approaches Hyperliquid

  • The WARS ticker was awarded after a bid of 587.51 HYPE.

  • The wARs stablecoin already works on the Ethereum, World Chain and Base networks, among others.

The Ripio exchange is moving forward with the integration of its stablecoin linked to the Argentine peso within Hyperliquid, a cryptocurrency network and decentralized platform (DEX) specialized in perpetual futures markets and spot trading.

This movement was exposed on May 19, 2026, after screenshots of an auction held within Hyperliquid to reserve the WARS ticker, corresponding to wARs, the stablecoin developed by Ripio, circulated on social networks.

“How difficult it is to do something in silence.” on-chain”, wrote Sebastián Serrano, CEO of the exchange, after the images began to spread on X.

The auction was awarded after a bid of 587.51 HYPE, equivalent to approximately $33,600 at the time of publication of this note, May 21, 2026, with HYPE trading at $57.22.

Currently, the ticker status appears as “Pending” within the platform. That means WARS It has already reserved its space within Hyperliquid, but the token is not yet ready for operation. Activation and configuration processes are still missing so that the token can be traded freely within the platform.

As CriptoNoticias reported on October 31, 2025, wARs is a token backed 1:1 by the Argentine peso and currently works on Ethereum, Base, World Chain, Polygon and BNB Smart Chain.

As explained by the company, the objective of the asset is to facilitate payments, remittances and digital financial services within tokenized ecosystems. Ripio has also launched stablecoins of the Brazilian real, the Mexican peso, the Colombian peso, the Chilean peso and the Peruvian sol.

Now, the appearance of a stablecoin linked to the Argentine peso within Hyperliquid raises a central question: what is the real usefulness of operating an asset associated with a historically inflationary economy like Argentina, especially within a market dominated by stablecoins linked to the US dollar.

CriptoNoticias contacted Ripio to find out more about the possible arrival of wARs in Hyperliquid but, so far, has not received responses.
